This study aims to shed the light in future technological trends emerging in the tour guiding profession, focusing on virtual and distance tour guiding as models. The new uprising techniques are reshaping the future of the tour guide profession globally. Virtual and distance or remote tour guiding are defined clearly in the study. Various examples are provided showing how emerging technologies such as extended reality (XR) as Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR), and Virtual Reality (VR), are reshaping the tourist experience in ways that Is extraordinary unexpected. As a result of, the global spread of the Coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) in recent years. One of the most prominent forms of a virtual tour guide is AR, MR, and Full VR, Hologram, and spatial tour guide in the Metaverse world. The Corona pandemic resulted as well the creation of a new trend and pattern of tour guides, namely, the remote tour guide, whose work methods and tools vary between working remotely or as a distance tour guide. The study used the descriptive analytical approach as a method for the study.
